What Do You Think Of When Encouraged To Have A Relationship with “Christ?”

Most likely know Christ wasn’t Jesus’ last name. Jesus the Christ was referring to Jesus as the Messiah (anointed one). But many think or hear Christ referred to as our “Savior” (aka a ticket from Hell to Heaven). Or dying on the Cross to appease God’s wrath. I would suggest the Bible actually portrays Jesus the Christ differently.
Jesus can’t save us from an non-existent Hell
There is no word in Hebrew or Greek for “hell.” Gehenna, the Greek word translated as Hell in the New Testament, was the name of a real valley near Jerusalem with a history of terrible, ending slaughter.

Christian or Christ Follower

I remember seeing a news article about a group of Christians picketing another church group. Supposedly they were picketing because they felt the church group, who allowed gays and women who had abortions into their assembly, was being soft on sin.
I can only assume that the picketers thought the gays and the abortion people were too big of sinners to be in with the religious folk.
Seems the church assembly who were be accepting was being more Christlike to me.
